How this dashboard works, where the data comes from, and what it can — and can't — tell you.
This site tracks public labor-market data and published AI-exposure research to provide a real-time, evidence-based view of how AI is affecting the US workforce. This dashboard is a monitoring tool designed to illustrate where and how fast US labor-market patterns are changing, and which published research suggests those changes may be AI-related.
In order to provide our analysis, we aggregate many different public data sources (BLS, Census ACS, FRED, Indeed Hiring Lab, Stanford/ADP Canaries, Challenger, and others) into composite indices of labor-market stress, structural AI exposure, and community adaptive capacity.
Attribution is extremely difficult: no specific layoff, hiring change, or unemployment shift can be attributed to AI alone. The economy is complex and many factors drive labor-market outcomes at the same time. The algorithms and scores in this tool reflect patterns consistent with AI-driven displacement — not proof of it.
